Lauren Fahrenkopf, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
I have been a physical therapist since 2016. My interest in pelvic floor physical therapy began when I was a PT student, where our introduction to the pelvic floor, was a voiced-over power point lecture, that we watched at home. That's it; that was all we learned about the pelvic floor. Despite this lackluster introduction to something so complex, I was intrigued. I chose to do my last clinical rotation in a pelvic health setting to learn more about this specialized area of physical therapy.
However, it wasn't until I became a mother, that I truly appreciated the need for pelvic floor PT. During the birth of my first child in September 2016, I sustained bilateral sulcus tears, which are less common than perineal tears, that caused me a significant amount of pain. My interest in the pelvic floor, grew from my first experience with childbirth, and has continued to grow ever since.

I have completed specialized course work and training in pelvic floor function and dysfunction, including, the Pelvic Floor Series through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Additionally, I have completed training in treating the prenatal and postpartum population. Currently, I am 1 of 259, CAPP-OB certified physical therapists, through the Academy of Pelvic Health.

It is my goal to create a supportive and empowering environment to address your needs and to help you navigate your way to better pelvic health.
